Quick Take
Buy the UnderCover Armor Flex for a 2024 or 2025 Ranger. Of the covers we've reviewed with an Amazon listing we could confirm for the 2024-on Ranger, it's the hard cover from a maker still selling it: a tri-fold with a textured coated top, rated 400 lb evenly distributed, backed for 5 years, and the tailgate opens and shuts with the cover closed. Its listing reads 2024 only, while RealTruck lists the same part for 2024-2025, so on a 2025 truck confirm the fit with the seller.
Know the trade before you order. Folded, it stands upright on prop rods and fills most of the rear window, and a couple of bad leaks sit on its record. The LEER HF650M has the better water record, a 450 lb rating and a lower four-panel stack, and its listing is the only one of our picks that names the 2026 truck. But LEER no longer lists it on its own site, the warranty is 3 years, the second panel from the rear has no latch of its own and can vibrate at highway speed, and the prop-rod clips are flimsy, so it's a buy while stocks last. For far less money and no lock, the TruXedo Lo Pro rolls up and the Tyger T3 folds. Covers we'd buy first on other trucks, the TruXedo Sentry CT and the UnderCover Ultra Flex among them, have no Ranger listing on Amazon that we could confirm.
Each of the four covers below has an Amazon listing we confirmed for the 6th gen Ranger's 5 ft bed, and each pick's fit notes say which model years that listing covers. See picks ↓
The 6th gen Ranger arrived for 2024, and the cover market is still catching up. Only four covers we've reviewed have an Amazon listing we could confirm for it. Several others have Ranger parts at RealTruck that we couldn't match to a confirmed listing, so this guide works from a short list and points out where a cover we'd otherwise pick is still a fit check away.
Our pick is the UnderCover Armor Flex, a hard tri-fold, for its 5-year warranty from a maker still selling it, a top you can slide gear across and a tailgate that works with the cover shut. The LEER and both soft covers edge it on our overall score, and nearly all of each edge is a lower price. The LEER has the better water record, but LEER no longer lists it on its own site, which makes its 3-year warranty a harder bet, and the soft covers are vinyl with no lock and no rating.
Check your model year before you check anything else. A 2024 or 2025 Ranger and a 2026 can need different parts from the same maker, and on a Raptor, the seals and the listing's fine print deserve a second look.
The best Ranger tonneau cover for each job
Choose by what the bed does every day.
- Best overall: the UnderCover Armor Flex. A hard tri-fold with a textured coated top, 400 lb evenly distributed and 5 years of warranty from a maker still selling it, and the tailgate opens and shuts with the cover closed. Most beds under it stay dry or close to it. Folded, it stands upright on prop rods and fills most of the rear window. Its listing reads 2024 only; RealTruck lists the part for 2024-2025.
- A 2026 Ranger, while stocks last: the LEER HF650M, the one pick whose listing names 2026. Half the owners who mention water say it stays dry and the rest see a little; nobody describes a wet bed. LEER rates it 450 lb evenly distributed, it needs no drain tubes, and its CYNC latch releases only with the tailgate down. LEER no longer lists it on its own site and backs it for 3 years.
- Soft roll-up: the TruXedo Lo Pro. Rolled up at the cab, it opens nearly the whole bed; it lifts out without tools, and the original buyer gets a limited lifetime warranty. Car washes find its corners, and it has neither a lock nor a load rating.
- Least money: the Tyger T3 Soft Tri-Fold. An aluminum frame under vinyl, backed for 5 years. Folded, it takes about a third of the bed, and Tyger's warranty says to put no weight on it.
- Security: none of the four has a keyed lock. The Armor Flex and the LEER latch shut and release from the bed sides with the tailgate down, so a locked tailgate locks the bed. The soft covers are vinyl. For tools left in the truck overnight, a hard folder plus a locked tailgate is the minimum.
The four covers side by side
Ratings and warranties are the makers' own; the last row comes from each Ranger listing:
Spec | UnderCover Armor Flex | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
Type | Hard folding | Hard folding, four panels | Soft roll-up | Soft tri-fold |
Rated load | 400 lb, evenly distributed | 450 lb, evenly distributed | None published | None published; Tyger's warranty says no weight on the cover |
Warranty | 5 years, original buyer, not transferable | 3 years, original retail buyer, not transferable, per LEER's page; some older Amazon listings say limited lifetime | Limited lifetime, original buyer, not transferable; authorized dealers only | 5 years, original buyer, not transferable |
Bed access | Upright on prop rods, off the cab; or two-thirds open and strapped | Four panels; LEER's listing says the stack locks away from the cab with the third brake light and window visible | Rolls to the cab for nearly the whole bed; comes off without tools where the quick-release is included | Stack sits on the front of the bed; owners put it at about a third |
Lock | Slam latches lock each panel; cables at the bed sides release them with the tailgate down; no keyed lock | CYNC latch, released from either side with the tailgate down; no keyed lock stated | One-finger trigger latch; no lock described | None described |
Ranger listing | 5 ft (60 in); reads 2024-2024, while RealTruck lists the part for 2024-2025 | 4 ft 10 in; 2024-2026 | 5 ft (60 in); title says 2024, fitment line 2024-2025; quick-release listed | 5 ft (61 in); 2024-2025 |
All four clamp on without drilling, per their makers, and none publishes a cover weight. LEER says its cover needs no drain tubes, while the Armor Flex comes with them. The T3 listing is the only one that mentions bed liners: an over-the-rail liner needs small holes cut for its clamps.
A rated load means weight spread evenly over the closed cover. A toolbox parked on one panel isn't that, and neither is a rack at highway speed. The soft covers carry no rating at all, and Tyger's warranty allows no weight on the T3 with no exception for snow, so sweep it off after a storm.
Where the open cover sits on a 5 ft bed
On a bed this short, where the open cover sits matters nearly as much as how it seals. We'd take the LEER's low stack over a tri-fold's tall one, and a roll-up over either if you fill the bed end to end every week.
LEER's listing calls the bed 4 ft 10 in, about 58 in. Split four ways, that's panels of about 14 to 15 in each, and LEER says the folded stack locks away from the cab with the third brake light and rear window still in view. A three-panel cover on the 60 in bed the other listings name has panels of about 20 in if they split evenly.
The Armor Flex gives you two open positions, per RealTruck: two-thirds open with the folded panels strapped down, or the whole stack upright on its prop rods for the full bed. Upright, it stays off the glass but blocks most of the view out the back.
The Lo Pro rolls to the cab and straps there, and its Ranger listing advertises the quick-release, so the cover lifts out without tools when a dirt bike or a load of mulch needs the whole floor. Folded, the T3 gives up about a third of the floor by owners' accounts, roughly 20 in of the 61 in Tyger lists. Unscrew its front clamps or lift it off for the rest, and fold it shut before the highway; Tyger doesn't recommend driving there with it folded.
2024-2025 or 2026: buying the right Ranger listing
Shop a 2024-2025 Ranger and a 2026 as different trucks. RealTruck sells separate 2026-2027 Ranger parts for the Armor Flex, the Lo Pro, the Ultra Flex and the BAKFlip G2, and a G2 off a 2024 Ranger didn't fit its owner's 2026, because the bed rails had changed a little. The owner of an MX4 TS on a 2026 says it fits once you order the 2026 version, because the rails differ slightly from the 2024-2025 truck's.
Our picks' listings read differently, so read them closely. The LEER's says 2024-2026, the only one to name the 2026 truck; with LEER no longer listing the cover on its own site, get the seller to confirm a 2026 fit before you order. The T3 listing and Tyger's own page stop at 2025. The Lo Pro listing names 2024 in its title and 2024-2025 in its fitment line. The Armor Flex listing reads 2024-2024, though RealTruck lists the same part for 2024-2025.
For a 2026 or 2027 Ranger, look for the parts RealTruck lists for those years: the Armor Flex for the 2026 Ranger and the Lo Pro for the 2026 Ranger. We haven't confirmed either on Amazon, so check fit for your truck.
The bed goes by several numbers. TruXedo's and UnderCover's listings say 5 ft (60 in), Tyger says 5 ft (61 in), RealTruck's part pages say 5 ft 1 in, and LEER says 4 ft 10 in. Every 2024-on Ranger listing we confirmed is for that one bed, so match the model year rather than the number.
Watch for older parts in search results. Both Amazon Gator EFX listings for the Ranger are titled 2019-2025, one of them for a 6 ft 1 in bed, but RealTruck lists those parts for 2019-2023 and sells a different EFX for the 2024-2025 Ranger. Read any Ranger listing that starts at 2019 against the maker's own part page before you buy.
Raptor, cargo management and bed liners
The Raptor shares the bed on RealTruck's pages. Its Ranger parts for the Lo Pro, the Ultra Flex, the BAK covers, the Sentry CT, both Retrax covers and the Gator EFX each name the Ranger and the Ranger Raptor together. Rough Country says its Low Profile doesn't fit Raptor models. The Amazon listings for our four picks don't mention the Raptor either way, so on a Raptor, ask the seller before you order.
On a Raptor, check the seals before anything else. A folding LEER of unnamed model came back off a '24 Raptor because its padding didn't sit flush, and an MX4 TS for a 2026 Raptor arrived with the wrong seal in the box; its owner says the Raptor takes a larger one, and a replacement was shipped. Before you clamp any cover down, check that its seals lie flat along both rails and against the front of the bed.
If your bed has a cargo management system, RealTruck lists its RetraxPRO XR and RetraxONE XR Ranger parts for trucks without one. None of our four picks' listings mentions it, so get the seller's answer in writing first.
Liners are simpler. The T3 listing says an over-the-rail liner needs small holes cut for the clamps and an under-the-rail liner works as is; the LEER, Armor Flex and Lo Pro listings say nothing about liners. On a spray-in bed, get the front wall clean and dry first, or no adhesive seal will stick to it.
Keeping a Ranger bed dry
No cover here seals a bed; what differs is how much water gets in. The LEER has the best record of our picks: nobody describes a wet bed, and it keeps water out with seals instead of drain tubes. The Armor Flex keeps most beds dry or close to it, with a couple of bad leaks on its record. Every Lo Pro water report describes some water, and how much depends on keeping the vinyl tight. The T3's short record says mostly dry. Our leak-risk gauge reads moderate on both hard folders; the soft covers have too few reports to set it.
We'd steer you away from the BAKFlip MX4. We rate its leak risk high, and we couldn't confirm its Ranger listing.
Setup decides most of the rest. Fill any seam in the bed near the cab with the putty LEER packs in the box before the rails go on. Route the Armor Flex's drain tubes the way the install guide shows. Pull the Lo Pro's vinyl tight and press the hook-and-loop down along both rails each time it closes, and on the T3, put Tyger's foam strip wherever you see a gap between the cover and the bed. Then hose down the shut cover and check the floor before you trust it with anything that matters.
In snow, clear the cover before you open it; RealTruck says so for the Armor Flex and Tyger for the T3. A wet load of snow has no business sitting on either soft cover.
Racks on a Ranger cover
None of our four picks is a rack base. LEER sells no T-slot version of the HF650M, RealTruck says nothing about racks on the Armor Flex, and the soft covers have no rating to carry one.
If crossbars will ride over the cover, start with T-slot rails: the RetraxPRO XR, whose RealTruck Ranger part is listed for trucks without the cargo management system, or BAK's MX4 TS, which adds T-slot rails to the MX4. We haven't confirmed either on an Amazon Ranger listing, so check fit for your truck.
Leitner's TONNEAU rack clamps into the rails on the PRO XR and the RetraxONE XR, and Leitner lists a 5 ft TONNEAU part for the Ranger that runs 2019-2026. Its FORGED and NDNS bed-rail racks have 2024-on parts for the Ranger and Ranger Raptor. Mounting the FORGED means drilling the bed walls for its rear supports, per Leitner's install guides; the NDNS clamps on. Neither sits under a cover unless you convert it to the TONNEAU.
Get the limits in writing before you load anything. RealTruck's 500 lb evenly distributed figure for the PRO XR is for the closed cover, not a rack. Leitner's FAQ and install guide rate the TONNEAU at 400 lb on the road and 800 lb parked, with no off-road figure. Overtightened rack bolts have bent PRO XR tracks, so stop at the figures Leitner and RealTruck publish.
Other covers we reviewed for the Ranger
- UnderCover Ultra Flex: the folder we'd buy on most trucks, rated 400 lb evenly distributed with a 5-year warranty and a stack that stands on prop rods off the glass. RealTruck lists a 2024-2025 Ranger part and a separate 2026-2027 one. Search for the Ranger Ultra Flex and check fit for your truck.
- BAKFlip MX4: a Ranger listing exists, but its product page didn't show the fit clearly enough for us to confirm it, and its leak record is too poor for us to pick it. Search the Ranger MX4 and check fit for your truck if you want one anyway.
- BAK Revolver X4s: a hard roll-up that leaves the rear window clear. RealTruck lists a 5 ft 1 in part for the 2024-2025 Ranger and Ranger Raptor, and says nothing about 2026. Search for the Ranger X4s and check fit for your truck.
- TruXedo Sentry CT: our highest-rated cover for weather sealing. RealTruck lists a 2024-2025 Ranger part for the 5 ft 1 in bed that we couldn't confirm on Amazon. Search for the Ranger Sentry CT and check fit for your truck.
- BAKFlip G2 and F1: RealTruck lists both for the 2024-2025 Ranger, and neither part is one we've confirmed on Amazon. The G2 has a separate 2026-2027 part; RealTruck lists no F1 for the 2026 Ranger.
- RetraxONE XR: the PRO XR's rails on a one-piece polycarbonate cover, rated 200 lb evenly distributed with a one-year warranty. Its RealTruck Ranger part is the US version for trucks without the cargo management system.
- Gator EFX: a budget hard folder, rated 300 lb evenly distributed and backed for 2 years. Its Amazon Ranger listings are older parts, per RealTruck, which sells a separate EFX for the 2024-2025 Ranger and Ranger Raptor. Search for the 2024-on Ranger EFX and check fit for your truck.
- Rough Country Low Profile: Rough Country sells a 5 ft part for the 2024-2025 Ranger that it says won't fit Raptor models. We couldn't confirm an Amazon listing for it.
- Peragon Landmark: no fit. Peragon's Ranger page stops at 2023.
A few covers outside our reviews come up among Ranger owners. DiamondBack's HD lid and Bison's soft cover both have fans. Tyger's T5, a budget hard tri-fold, has a 2024-2025 Ranger listing we confirmed, but its owner record is too thin for us to back it. TruXedo's cheaper TruXport, which we have reviewed, sits on top of the bed rails rather than inside them and has a 2024-2025 Ranger listing, but a Gen 2 cover on a 2024-on Ranger wouldn't seal at the bulkhead, so read its fit notes and call RealTruck before you order one for this truck.
Choosing for your Ranger
Put the UnderCover Armor Flex on most 2024 and 2025 Rangers. It's the hard cover here from a maker still selling it, with 5 years of warranty, a 400 lb rating, a top you can slide gear across and a tailgate that works with the cover shut. Go in knowing the folded stack stands upright in your rear window, and that its listing reads 2024 while RealTruck lists the part for 2024-2025, so on a 2025 truck get the seller to confirm the fit. Route the drain tubes the way the install guide shows.
Pick the LEER HF650M, while stocks last, if the best water record of our picks and a low stack matter most, or if your Ranger is a 2026: its listing is the only one of ours that names that year. It latches so a coat hanger won't open it, but the warranty is 3 years and LEER has stopped listing the cover on its own site, so get the seller to confirm a 2026 fit. Find an install video for your truck, because the instructions are generic, and handle the prop-rod clips gently. On a budget, the Lo Pro is the soft roll-up for a bed you empty often, and the T3 is the cheapest cover we'd put on this truck. On any other 2026 or 2027 Ranger, buy a part listed for your year or check fit for your truck.

What owners say
Ranger owners shop covers around leaks, seals and the model year. BAKFlip MX4 reports split: one on a 2026 Raptor stays dry, while one on a 2024 Raptor leaks in the rain and its owner suspects openings under the rail caps. A TruXedo TruXport wouldn't seal on a 2024-on truck, with a bulkhead seal that seemed far too short, while a DiamondBack HD lets in a drop or two at most and a Bison soft cover keeps gear reasonably dry. Fit is the other theme: a BAKFlip G2 from a 2024 Ranger didn't fit a 2026, an MX4 TS fits a 2026 Raptor once the 2026 part is ordered, though its box held the wrong seal, and a folding LEER of unnamed model came off a 2024 Raptor because its padding wasn't flush. Reports from 6th gen owners of our picks are still thin: a LEER HF650M owner on a 2024 Ranger likes it despite generic instructions, and Ranger reports on the Armor Flex, Lo Pro and T3 are scarce, so the cards below are owners of other covers. We'd buy by the listing's model year, then check the seals on day one.
“I have the Bakflip mx4 and it’s been great. I keep checking for leaks and it’s dry up in there. ‘26 RR”
“I have a Bakflip mx4 on my ‘24 RR that leaks in the rain, but I also know there’s a BUNCH of holes under the rail caps.”
“Anyone else install a Truxport - latest gen - on their 2024+??? Got one delivered today, and after about 3 hours (really) of trying various things I could not get it to seal well. The bulkhead seal they provided honestly seemed far too short for a good seal.”
“I have the Diamondback HD and love it. Never had more than a drop or two of water get through even in the heaviest rain of car wash”
“I feel like most of them leak eventually no matter how expensive you go. I opted to get a cheap soft cover from Bison ... Super cheap, keeps my stuff reasonably dry through storms and doesn’t look bad.”
