Owners sayMost run it on Tacomas and Tundras; one F-150 owner fitted it to a hidden mount, and the only owner who names a model year on a generation we cover (a 2024 Tacoma) lists it in a build without reporting use. The friction is around the winch: six owners describe bumper or mount work beyond bolting it in, from relocating the control pack to trimming a grille support or redrilling a mount, and four describe losing or fighting the wireless remote after the recall, two of whom added WARN's HUB Bluetooth receiver instead. Most run it on Jeeps, 4Runners, Lexus GXs, Land Cruisers and car trailers; the pickups include Tacomas, Tundras, a 2017 3rd gen Tacoma, a 2022 F-150 and Colorado ZR2s. Eleven owners who name the Apex report two to five years of use without a failure, and four report it still working after running submerged or through deep mud.
Our verdictWARN reliability and warranty for a midsize or light half-ton; size up by WARN formula for anything heavier. The most winch for the money, with published load tables; the 90-day warranty is the trade.
