Owners sayThey like how tight the boards sit to the body, the look on half-tons and midsize trucks and the easy bolt-on install, and owners from 175 to 240 lb report little or no flex. The finish is the common complaint: six owners in RB20 and RB20 Slim threads describe the textured powder coat or the bedliner coating flaking, peeling or rusting, from two months to a few years in, and owners in the Northeast and Canada treat the undersides and brackets with Fluid Film, CRC or Line-X before install.Five report sets still working after a year or more, the longest a little over two years and another at 25,000 miles, and three describe winters with salt or snow without trouble. The complaints are about the install: three call the instructions poor or generic, three ran short of trigger or power wire, and two fought the driver-side alignment.
Our verdictA tight-fitting fixed board with a real step; buy the standard width and treat the finish before the first salted winter. The power step we would buy on a budget; the install takes patience and the record is shorter than AMP.
